Patna November 30, 2024: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, speaking at an agriculture department event IN Patna on Saturday, emphasized his government’s focus on development across all sectors, particularly agriculture.
Bihar Chief Minister inaugurated the state-level Krishi Yantrikaran Mela under Agro Bihar 2024 in Patna Gandhi Maidan on Saturday.
Under this initiative, the Bihar government will give grants for the agriculture and irrigation-related 75 types of equipment such as tractors, power trailers, motor pumps etc. In a bid to promote an eco-friendly atmosphere, the agriculture department will encourage farmers to purchase crop remains management equipment. The grant on these products will be 80%.
During the agriculture fair, agriculture equipment manufacturing companies are displaying their products. Besides, training and cultural programs will also be organized at this fair.
Accompanied by Cabinet Minister Mangal Pandey and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, the CM highlighted the reformative measures implemented since his tenure began in November 2005.

Nitish Kumar criticized the previous RJD regime led by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, blaming it for Bihar’s underdevelopment.
He stated, “There was no development work in Bihar before 2005. They have done nothing for Bihar. When I took over the office, the reforms in every sector started. There were no events related to development in the previous RJD tenures.”
The Chief Minister’s remarks reflect his commitment to showcasing the progress his administration has made in transforming Bihar’s agricultural and broader development landscape. By drawing on past administrations, he underscored his government’s efforts in driving growth and modernizing key sectors.
Nitish Kumar emphasized women’s empowerment during his tenure:
He emphasized the contrast between Bihar’s pre-2005 state and the reforms initiated under his leadership, particularly focusing on development and women’s empowerment.
“The people of the young generation do not know about the situation before 2005. There was nothing in Bihar, The development works started after I came into power,” Kumar remarked, underscoring his administration’s achievements.
He also took pride in his government’s role in promoting women’s empowerment, stating, “Today, a large number of women are employed in every sector. We are responsible for women empowerment in Bihar.”
