Patna, May 12, 2024: After RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav took a swipe at PM Narendra Modi ahead of his road show in Patna, the NDA leaders retaliated sharply, accusing the RJD supremo of hypocrisy and failed governance during his tenure.

NDA leaders targeted Lalu Prasad Yadav:

JDU Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha said that Lalu’s statement only serves to strengthen the NDA’s electoral prospects.

“Whenever Lalu Prasad Yadav says anything, NDA’s votes increase. He should first give an account of what he did when he ruled Bihar,” Jha said.

He further added that under Lalu’s regime, industrialists, doctors, hoteliers, and traders had left Bihar, leading to economic collapse.

“They had made Bihar unlivable. Hence, there is no point in his words. This is a one-sided election. Even Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has accepted that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again. Now, even the people of Lalu’s alliance agree with it,” he said.

Echoing a similar tone, BJP state president and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary accused Lalu Prasad Yadav of being concerned only about his family.

“Lalu Prasad Yadav only cares about his family. He brought his tourist daughter here. During the Jungle Raj, his entire family had fled Bihar. Out is because of the good governance of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar, they are now returning,” Choudhary said.

He also countered Lalu’s criticism of the NDA government’s industrial policies.

“Lalu Prasad Yadav does not know that our government is restarting 14 closed sugar mills. This is the contribution of the Modi government, which approved ethanol production. Lalu Prasad was in jail, so he wouldn’t remember anything. What would a convicted man know?” he added.

Earlier in the day, Lalu Prasad Yadav had mocked Prime Minister Modi’s roadshow, saying the BJP was forced to take to the streets after a poor performance in the first three phases of the Lok Sabha elections.

“Bihar has brought them onto the streets after the first three phases, and it will force them to roam the lanes in the remaining phases,” Lalu said.

He also recalled Modi’s 2014 promise to open a sugar mill in Bihar and drink tea made from its produce. It’s been 10 years. What happened to that promise? He couldn’t even open one sugar mill in Bihar,” he remarked.

NDA finalized PM’s road show route:

Prime Minister Modi’s much-anticipated roadshow in Patna is scheduled later in the day under tight security arrangements.

The roadshow will start from Dak Bungalow Chowk, pass through SP Verma Road, Exhibition Road, Uma Cinema Hall, Kadam Kuan, Sahitya Sammelan Bhawan, Thakurbari Road and Bakarganj, before culminating at Udyog Bhawan.
