MP Pappu Yadav calls for Bihar Bandh on January 12 to support BPSC agitation.
Patna January 7, 2025: Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, has called for a Bihar Bandh on January 12, urging leaders from the Mahagatbandhan to join the state-wide protest.
The Bandh aims to demand the cancellation and re-conduct of the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination, along with a thorough investigation into alleged irregularities and paper leaks.
Pappu Yadav met Governor Arif Mohammad Khan:
The announcement followed a meeting between Pappu Yadav and Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at Raj Bhavan in Patna on Tuesday. During the meeting, Yadav submitted a memorandum highlighting issues in the BPSC examination process.
Yadav stated, “During my conversation with the governor, I raised several serious concerns, including irregularities, lack of transparency, and administrative failures in the 70th preliminary examination conducted by BPSC.
These issues have deeply hurt the credibility of the examination system. The conduct and aftermath of the examination are extremely concerning.”
Yadav also noted that the governor assured him of an investigation into the alleged paper leak and similar irregularities in other examinations conducted by the commission.
Yadav was joined by leaders such as Premchand Singh, Rajesh Pappu, Raghavendra Kushwaha, and Faizan Ahmed, who were present while he handed over the memorandum to the governor.
Criticism of Prashant Kishor:
Speaking to reporters outside Raj Bhavan, Yadav Criticized political strategist Prashant Kishor, referring to him as a “Shikhandi” (a pawn or ineffective figure). Pappu Yadav dismissed Kishor’s suggestion that Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav should lead the students’ movement, calling it “ridiculous” and accusing Kishor of using the student’s protest as a political ploy.
“Prashant Kishor has made the students’ movement a pawn to run his political shop,” Yadav alleged.
Yadav also condemned the Bihar police for allegedly suppressing students’ voices during their Satyagraha in Patna. He pointed out incidents where the police used force, including lathi charges, to disperse peaceful protestors. “ The students were subjected to lathi charges three times during their peaceful protests. This is not only against their interests but also a violation of their right to peaceful protest, “ Yadav stated.
The Bihar Bandh on January 12 is aimed at rallying public and political support to address these issues and ensure justice for affected students.
