Manoj Jha criticized PM Modi’s 2-day Bihar visit and demanded special status.

Patna, May 29, 2025: Amid the heightened political atmosphere during the Bihar Assembly elections, the Grand Alliance held a joint press conference in Patna on Thursday, Manoj Jha criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing visit to the state raising pointed questions about his promises and the central government’s record.
PM’s visit is a part of election oriented, says Manoj Jha:
RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha described the Prime Minister’s visit as a strategic move in view of the upcoming elections rather than development-oriented.

“PM Modi came here but his visit is politically motivated rather than development oriented. His visit to Bihar will become frequent, but he must address the ground realities of the state,” Jha said.
Manoj Jha emphasized that the development of India is incomplete without Bihar’s development.
Stressing the long-pending demand, Jha retirement that special category status for Bihar is a necessity, not a favor.
Manoj Jha criticized the Centre on Caste Census:
On the issue of the caste census, Jha pointed out the Centre’s inaction.
“There was an announcement by the central government to conduct caste census nationwide, but no implementation. Bihar doesn’t want jealousy from other states, but recognition of its economic and developmental needs,” Jha said.
Congress also raises sharp questions:
Rajesh Rathore, chief spokesperson of the Bihar Congress, targeted both the state and central governments, calling CM Nitish Kumar’s absence from the recent NITI Aayog meeting “unfortunate.”
He highlighted the lack of progress in 21 centrally controlled departments in Bihar and said that Nitish Kumar should press PM Modi for special status or at least a special financial package for the state.
Rathore also questioned the fulfillment of past promises.
“When the PM Modi came earlier, he made many announcements. He must answer in his previous announcement. The public knows how many have been fulfilled,” Rathore said.

He raised concerns about rising crime rates and atrocities against Dalits, stating these issues demand urgent attention.
The statements of the Grand Alliance leader came soon after PM Modi inaugurated a new terminal at Patna Airport and did a high-profile roadshow in the capital.
