Patna August 17: Lalu Prasad Yadav, the chief of RJD expressed his concern over the Kolkata horror, calling for the strongest possible punishment for the accused involved in the heinous crime.

He described the crime as heinous and emphasized the need for justice for the victim.

“A heinous crime has been committed. Such incidents are happening in our society which is a grave concern for us. Whatever has been done in Kolkata, is heinous. The victim should be given justice. The doctors are protesting; they should be given justice,” Yadav said while interacting with the media persons in New Delhi on Saturday.

The doctors across the country have launched widespread protests in response to the Kolkata incident. They are demanding justice for the victim and increasing protection for the medical professionals at all medical colleges, hospitals, clinics and workplaces.

The doctors have suspended their work in all prominent medical colleges and hospitals across the state which has significantly impacted healthcare services especially, in Patna. The Emergency and OPD in major hospitals such as PMCH, NMCH, IGIMS Patna AIIMS and others are completely disrupted and it is adversely affecting patients.

Lalu Prasad Yadav along with his wife Rabri Devi traveled to New Delhi on Saturday, and they will go to Singapore soon for a routine health checkup.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, who underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore on December 5, 2022, went there for a follow-up check-up last year.

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s second daughter Rohini Acharya, donated her one kidney to him during the transplant.
