Patna, May 12, 2024: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to hold a grand roadshow in Patna on Sunday evening, Lalu Prasad Yadav, the RJD national president, launched a sharp attack on him, claiming that the dismal performance of the NDA in the first three phases of the Lok Sabha election had forced the Prime Minister to hit the streets.

In a post on X, Lalu Prasad Yadav said, “What benefit will Bihar get from his roadshow? The people of Bihar are not fools. They know very well that even after taking 39 MPs out of 40 from the state, he developed Gujarat instead of Bihar. All the investments were taken to Gujarat, even though Bihar has remained with the NDA for a long time. These people come to visit Bihar only once in five years.”

Lalu Prasad Yadav said people of Bihar forced PM Modi to come on the streets:

Continuing his attack, the RJD chief said, “Bihar has brought them on the streets after the first three phases of the election and will force them to roam in the lanes in the remaining four phases.”

Security has been tightened across the city ahead of the Prime Minister’s roadshow.

A heavy police force has been deployed along the route, and traffic diversions have been put in place.

According to official information, PM Modi’s roadshow will begin from Dak Bungalow Chowk and pass through SP Verma Road, Exhibition Road, Uma Cinema Hall, Kadam Kuan, Sahitya Sammelan Bhawan, Thakurbari Road, and Bakarganj before concluding at Udyog Bhawan.

Authorities have urged people to avoid these areas during the event.

Allegation of unfulfilled promises:

Lalu Prasad Yadav also reminded the public of Modi’s unfulfilled promises, saying, “He had said in 2014 that he would open a sugar mill and drink tea made from sugar produced in that mill. Ten years have passed—what happened to that promise? He failed to open even a small sugar mill in Bihar. None of his big promises have been fulfilled in the last 10 years.”

He further alleged that Modi had ignored Bihar’s long-standing educational demand, saying, “He did not give central university status to the 100-year-old historic Patna University, despite his own ally, the Chief Minister, pleading for it from the stage.”
