Patna, September 4, 2024: Lalu Prasad Yadav, the chief of RJD,  is gearing up for the upcoming Bihar assembly election in 2025, showing renewed energy since his return from Singapore after a health check-up.

On Wednesday, he convened a high-level meeting in Patna to strategize for the election.

The meeting will be led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, with the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, RJD state president Jagadanand Singh, RJD national general secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui, four Lok Sabha MPs, including Misa Bharti, Sudhakar Singh, Abhay Kushwaha and Surendra Yadav, apart from all MLAs, MLCs and district presidents, were instructed to attend this crucial gathering.

In the 2020 assembly election, RJD emerged as the single largest party in Bihar but failed to form the government.

Acknowledging the need for better performance in 2025, Lalu Prasad Yadav called for this meeting to discuss ways to strengthen the party’s organizational structure and make it more effective at the grassroots level.

A major part of their strategy involves Tejashwi Yadav’s “Jan Samwad Yatra,” which aims to connect with the public at the ground level. The Yatra, starting from Samastipur on September 10, will be a key topic of discussion, focusing on how to ensure its success.

Additionally, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav are concentrating on two significant issues: advocating for a caste census at the national level and pushing for the inclusion of a 65% reservation in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. These issues are central to the party’s plan to gain support ahead of the 2025 assembly poll.
