Patna, December 21, 2025: Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) patron and Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday made strong political remarks from a public platform in Gaya, directly addressing his son and HAM National President Santosh Kumar Suman.

Manjhi indicated growing dissatisfaction with the BJP and warned that the alliance could be reconsidered if HAM’s political demands are not met.

Addressing a party program in Gaya, Manjhi said, “ Do not be disheartened, Santosh Ji. My father was a farmer, and today your father is a union minister. Be prepared to fight. The BJP has acted dishonestly with us. Now, be ready to raise the slogan of Inquilab Zindabad.”

Santosh Kumar Suman, who is also a minister in the Bihar government, was present on the stage during the event.

Jitan Ram Manjhi stated that his party had tolerated repeated instances of what he described as political dishonesty and that the time had come to prepare for an independent political path if required.

Jitan Ram Manjhi stated that the Rajya Sabha seat is the core of the dispute:

Manjhi said that HAM requires a Rajya Sabha seat, noting that elections to the Upper House are due in the coming months.

He claimed that the BJP had promised a Rajya Sabha seat during the Lok Sabha elections but failed to deliver.

If we are not given a Rajya Sabha seat this time, we are prepared to break the alliance. I am also ready to resign from my ministerial post in the central government,” Manjhi said.

He further alleged that HAM was underestimated both during the Lok Sabha election and the Bihar Assembly elections.

“You made a mistake by underestimating us. If this mistake is repeated, we are also ready to choose a different path,” he warned.

Advising Suman, Jitan Ram Manjhi said that political leadership requires courage and risk-taking.

He urged party workers to prepare for contesting elections independently if necessary.

“What will you do if the BJP offers only five seats? You should prepare to contest at least 100 seats. If we secure even 10-15 seats or around six percent of the vote share, the party will gain recognition,” he said.

Jitan Ram Manjhi emphasized the need for organizational unity and preparation, stating that electoral success would depend on collective effort.

Remarks on party funding:

During his address, Jitan Ram Manjhi also made statements regarding the use of MP and MLA funds for party activities, saying that elected representatives should contribute to strengthening the organization.

He claimed that he was willing to divert a portion of his own funds to support the party’s functioning.

Manjhi claimed that HAM enjoys around 5 percent vote share based on caste support and said that the party has expanded its base beyond a single community.

“We have support from Purnea to Bettiah and from Munger to Bhagalpur to Western Bihar. Along with the Muhasar community, other castes have also joined us,” he said.

Jitan Ram Manjhi’s remarks are being seen as a clear pressure tactic ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections and signal a growing strain within the NDA in Bihar.

His open warning of a possible split marks one of the strongest public statements made by a senior NDA ally in recent times.
