JDU national executive meeting will be held on June 29
Patna June 25: The JDU National Executive Committee meeting will be held in New Delhi on June 29.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who is also a national president of the party may make some surprising decisions during that meeting.
At present, Nitish Kumar is the National President, Vashishtha Narayan Singh is the National Vice President, KC Tyagi is the Special Advisor cum Chief Spokesperson and Alok Suman is the Treasurer. JD (U) has a 100-member team including 32 executive members, 22 General Secretaries, seven Secretaries, state presidents and State Conveners of 22 states that have been given a place in the executive. Most of the ministers of the Bihar government have also been made members. All MPs are also members of the National Executive Committee. The National Executive meeting is held every 6 months.
The party has sent invitations to the members of the executive committee to attend the meeting. It will be mandatory for all the members to attend the meeting.
The JD (U) top leadership will discuss the performance of the party in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election. They will also chalk out the plan for the assembly election of Bihar and other states like Haryana.
Nitish can make surprising decisions on important issues like the national president of the party. In the last national executive meeting held in December, Nitish Kumar took over the charge of the national president from Lalan Singh.
Nitish Kumar, after taking over the charge of national president from Lalan Singh, had taken crucial decisions including the separation from the Grand Alliance and formed the government in Bihar with the help of the BJP.
“Along with strengthening the organization, many issues including the expansion of the party will be discussed. The situation that has arisen in the country after the Lok Sabha elections will be discussed and if the assembly elections are held in Bihar and other states like Haryana, then the party will prepare the plans,” said Vashishtha Narain Singh, National Vice President of JD (U).
This meeting is also important because under, the leadership of Nitish Kumar, NDA has played a big role in the formation of the government at the centre. The party will also discuss the loss of 4 seats of Lok Sabha in Bihar. In 2019, JD (U) won 16 seats while this time only 12.
Sources have said that Nitish Kumar may eyes on his political successor in this meeting. It will also be seen whether Nitish Kumar makes his son Nishant Kumar enter politics or not. Recently, many party leaders including JD (U) Magadh in-charge and former Food Commission Chairman Vidyanand Vikal had given statements about Nishant Kumar and demanded to hand over the command of the party to the youth leadership. However, cabinet minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary had called such things baseless.
