Grand Alliance hoping the positives of the LS poll bring fortunes in the assembly poll next year

Patna June 7: Despite the INDIA bloc had not reached the majority figure to form the government in the centre, the RJD leaders believe whatever support their party has got in the Lok Sabha election would be fruitful in the next assembly election.

While releasing the statement, RJD leader Chitranjan Gagan said: “The people of Bihar have given a clear message through this Lok Sabha election for the next assembly election of the state scheduled next year. The people of Bihar have rejected the NDA and expressed their trust in Tejashwi Yadav. In this Lok Sabha election, the issues raised by the Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav have received widespread public support.”

The entire election campaign of Tejashwi’s was focused on issues related to public concern such as jobs, unemployment, inflation, education, income, medicine, irrigation, hearing and action, the statements of rival leaders were limited to temples, mutton, Mangalsutra, fish and buffalo and Mujra as well as personal attacks on opposition leaders. While Prime Minister Modi on one hand kept threatening to send Tejashwi to jail, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar kept counting children in every election speech,” Gagan said.

The RJD spokesperson said that it is the result of Tejashwi’s positive politics that the India Alliance was not only successful in snatching nine seats from the NDA in Bihar but also successful in reducing the margin of victory and defeat significantly compared to the last Lok Sabha election. The votes and vote percentage received by NDA decreased significantly whereas the votes received by RJD and its alliance partners increased significantly along with the vote percentage. In the last Lok Sabha election, RJD got only 15.68% votes which increased by 7.5 percent to 22.14%. Whereas BJP got 24.05% votes in the last Lok Sabha elections which decreased to 20.05%. Similarly, JD (U) got 22.20% votes in the last Lok Sabha elections which has decreased to 18.52% this time.

“This election has also expanded the role of Tejashwi Yadav in central politics. He has played the biggest role in this victory. NDA’s election campaign was handled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP President JP Nadda along with dozens of central ministers and chief ministers of various states. The Prime Minister himself addressed a dozen and a half meetings. In Patna, he had to come on the road and stay in Patna for two nights. Despite this, the NDA had to suffer a loss of 9 seats. Whereas Tejashwi Yadav led the election alone and won a big victory. Under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav, the vote base of RJD and Grand Alliance has increased a lot in the entire state, the social base has also expanded a lot and trust has been created among all sections and communities,” he said.

“The Mahagathbandhan will definitely get the benefit of this in the assembly elections. Through, the Lok Sabha election, the people of Bihar have given a clear message that there is no one parallel to Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar,” Gagan said.
