Gopalganj police arrested another member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.

Patna July 25: Gopalganj police arrested another active member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, an official said.

This marks the third arrest of gang members within five days. 

Gopalganj SP Swarn Prabhat confirms the incident, stating that the investigation team found evidence linking the accused directly to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The arrested individual has been identified as Dinesh Singh Rawat, a native of Kesharpura village under Mangliawas police station of Ajmer district.

Gopalganj Police arrested two accused previously: The Gopalganj police had earlier arrested two active members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Shantanu Shivam and Kamal Rawat during the vehicle-checking campaign at Bihar-Uttar Pradesh Balthari border check post on July 21. They were booked under sections 111/61 (2) of BNS and 25 (1-B)A/26/35 of the Arms Act at Kuchaykot police station. 

“We had arrested two active members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang from the Bihar-Uttar Pradesh Balthari border during the vehicle-checking campaign on July 21. Our team also recovered four Austrian-made Glock sophisticated pistols and 8 magazines from their possession. During interrogation of those two accused, they revealed the name of Dinesh Singh Rawat,” Prabhat said.

“Since the matter was very sensitive, we immediately constituted a special team headed by SDPO Sadar of Gopalgang and sent them to Ajmer for the raid. Our police team, with the assistance of Ajmer police, arrested him. He was brought to Gopalganj,” the SP said.

Gopalganj police interrogation: During interrogation, Dinesh Singh Rawat confessed that he was an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. We have also found proof about his association with that gang,” SP Swarn Prabhat said.

“We have informed Bihar ATS and NIA about his arrest. The officials of these two departments will also interrogate him,” he said.

Legal Action against the accused: The accused will be produced in the district court for the further legal course of action.
