Fourteen people were injured due to electrocution in Araria.

Patna, July 17, 2024: Fourteen people who were part of a Muharram procession in Araria district became victims of electrocution on Wednesday.

Initially, the victims were admitted to the Primary Health Canter (PHC) Palasi, and 8 of them were referred to Sadar Hospital.

Araria civil surgeon Dr K K Kashyap confirms the incident.

He said that the conditions of all fourteen persons are stable, and they will soon be discharged.

“The victims were admitted to PHC Palasi as well as to Sadar Hospital, and they are out of danger.

The officials of the district police immediately rescued them, and doctors also responded swiftly to save lives and provided appropriate treatment,” Kashyap said.

The incident occurred at Pipra Bijwad Panchayat under Palasi block in the district on Wednesday. They came under the impact of a high-tension 33000 KV transmission overhead wire and sustained injuries.

The local people and police immediately carried out the rescue operation and took all fourteen persons to the PHC located in Palasi block.

The doctors have given preliminary treatment, and 8 of them, who have slightly serious conditions, were referred to Sadar Hospital.
