Patna, April 9, 2025: Four members of a family, including two children were lost their lives after being hit by a speeding train in Bihar’s Siwan district on Tuesday.
The tragic incident occurred near Laxmipur village under Murhari Panchayat, close to Mairwa railway station on the Siwan-Gorakhpur rail section.
An accident occurred when four individuals were returning home:
According to local sources, the victims had gone to their agricultural field and were returning home when the children began crossing the railway track.
Two women, Sunita Devi and Neetu Devi, rushed to save them, but all four were struck by an oncoming train and died on the spot.
“The victims were residents of Laxmipur village, which lies right beside the railway track. Their farmland is located on both sides of the track,” said Ajay Bhaskar, Mukhiya (Village Head) of Murhari Panchayat.
Villagers demanded compensation:
Following the accident, angry villagers gathered at the site, blocked nearby roads, and demanded adequate compensation for the victims’ families.
Officials from GRP, RPF and Railways reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
