Four juvenile inmates fled from the observation home of Munger

Patna June 17: Four juvenile teenage inmates fled from children’s observation home in Bihar’s Munger district on Monday.

The incident occurred at 3 am. Three of the juvenile inmates belong to Lakhisarai district and one from Munger. They were facing rape and murder charges.

The children’s observation home is located under Kotwali police station in Munger district. The juvenile inmates have overpowered a security guard beaten him, locked him in a toilet and fled from the observation home using bed sheets.

“As per the statement of the injured security guard Sanjay Kumar, one of the juvenile inmates asked him to go to the toilet for a urinal. When he opened the gate and went some distance towards the toilet, three inmates came from behind and gaged his mouth with a towel. They have overpowered him and locked him in the toilet,” said an officer of Kotwali police station of the district.

“The juvenile inmates climbed on the wall and jumped on the other side using a bed sheet,” the officer said.

Following the incident, district SP and DM reached the children’s observation home and investigated the matter. The district SP has constituted a team to nab the minor inmates.
