Fire broke out in a multi-storey building.
Patna July 12: A major tragedy was averted in Patna after a fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the Kankarbagh locality on Friday evening. The incident occurred in LN Tower, located near the Tiwari Bechar Petrol Pump.
The fire spread quickly, but local residents promptly alerted the fire brigade, which managed to extinguish the flames within two hours. No casualties have been reported.
Several residents were trapped inside the tower during the incident and were safely rescued due to the swift action of the firefighters. A notable rescue involved a 50-year-old man trapped on an upper floor, who was safely brought out by the fire brigade.
The firefighters’ prompt response averted a major tragedy, given the proximity of the Tiwari Bechar Petrol Pump and a warehouse of rubber sheets to the building.
Manoj Kumar Nut, a fire officer: “As soon as we received information of the fire mishap, we immediately reached there with fire engines to douse the flame. Some residents were trapped inside. We have rescued them and also doused the flame. A total of 12 fire tenders were used to douse the flame and bring the situation under control.”
The flames and smoke caused panic in the surrounding area, leading to a traffic jam on the roads. Traffic DSP Anil Kumar Singh and Traffic SP Ashok Kumar Singh intervened to ease the traffic situation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
