Patna, August 23: The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar submitted the charge sheet in the constable recruitment paper leak case, an official said.
Nayyer Hasnain Khan, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Economic Offence Unit confirmed the development. He said that the charge sheet was filed on Thursday.
“We have submitted the charge sheet against paper leak mastermind Sanjiv Mukhiya and others involved in this case. The accused were involved in an organized crime and are serial offenders,” Khan said.
Besides Sanjiv Mukhiya, his son Dr Dilip Kumar alias Bittu, Abhishek Kumar, Ashwini Kumar and others were also have names in the charge sheet. Abhishek Kumar is the owner of the printing press.
They are accused of orchestrating the leak of the examination paper for constable recruitment, an act that is considered a serious offence involving systematic organized crime. The charge sheet is a crucial step in the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings against those accused of compromising the integrity of the recruitment process.
The Economic Offence Unit official said that some of the accused in the constable recruitment case were also involved in the NEET question paper leak case and are currently in jail. The kingpin of the racket, Sanjiv Mukhiya remains at large.
The examination was held on October 1, 2023 and the paper was leaked on the same day.
During the investigation of the Economic Offence Unit, it was appeared that Sanjiv Mukhiya and his son, Dr Dilip Kumar, contacted the Abhishek Kumar for the papers.
During interrogation of the arrested accused, it came to light that the paper leak orchestrated through a careful planned scheme. The scheme involved intercepting the sealed question papers during their transit from the printing press, scanning them using through specialized tools and then hand them over to their clients with solved answers in exchange for hefty sums.
After the NEET UG paper leak which was busted by Patna police and later handed over to Economic Offence Unit and subsequently to the CBI, more than 30 individuals have been arrested in connection with this case so far.

Patna police recovered a burnt photocopy of a question booklet outside the Learn Play School and Hostel in Patna. It is at this school that over three dozen students were shown the question papers on May 4 – a day before the examination – by members of the Mukhia gang.
