23 rallies cancelled due to Cyclone Montha on Friday:

Adverse weather prevented helicopters from flying, leading to the cancellation of around 23 rallies on Friday.

Campaigns of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi and actor-singer Pawan Singh were hit.

Priyanka Gandhi’s rally in Saharsa was cancelled on Saturday. She later travelled to Bachwara Assembly Constituency in Begusarai by road to address an election rally.

In several places, leaders addressed voters through mobile phone calls instead of physical rallies.

Farmers received crop loss due to Cyclone Montha:

The rains and high winds have also damaged standing Kharif crops, especially paddy.

Farmers fear heavy losses as the rains have coincided with harvesting time.

The IMD said rain with thunderstorms and strong winds may continue in most districts on Saturday, with a heavy rain warning for pockets of Araria, Kishanganj and Purnea.

Maximum and minimum temperatures dipped across the state on Friday.

Roads are waterlogged at many places, affecting traffic. Several areas have reported power disruptions.

The administration has appealed to people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

According to IMD, the weather will begin to improve from Sunday (November 2).

Maximum temperature may rise in the next few days, though minimums will remain nearly unchanged, keeping mornings and evenings slightly chilly.

Officials have been asked to remain alert for relief and emergency response.
