CM Nitish Kumar would begin a state-wide tour again after the electoral victory.

Patna, January 6, 2026: Following the emphatic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to embark on another state-wide tour.

Preparations for the tour have already begun, and dates are currently being finalized, according to sources in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police across the state have been directed to make necessary administrative and security arrangements.

Nitish Kumar has a history of state-wide tours:

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has a long tradition of undertaking state-wide tours during the winter months and has completed more than a dozen such outreach programs so far.

With the budget session of the Bihar Assembly likely to begin in February, officials are finalizing the tour schedule, keeping the legislative calendar.

High-level discussions regarding the tour are already underway.

During the tour, Nitish Kumar will thank the people of Bihar for their overwhelming support in the Assembly elections.

He will also review ongoing development schemes, assess their ground-level implementation, and collect feedback from the general public.

The name of the tour and its official launch date are yet to be announced.

Senior officials and members of the Chief Minister’s core team are deliberating on these aspects.

This time, the tour is expected to be conducted under extremely tight security. While Nitish Kumar’s previous tour also had robust security arrangements, sources indicate that direct interaction with the public may be limited during this visit.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has used state-wide tours as a key political and governance tool since 2005.

He went for Nyay Yatra in 2005, Vikas Yatra ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2009, Dhanyavad Yatra after the Lok Sabha elections in 2009, Pravas Yatra in December 2009, Vishwas Yatra in April 2010 ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Sewa Yatra in 2011 after the Assembly election, Adhikar Yatra in September 2012, demanding special status for Bihar, Sankalp Yatra, before 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Sampark Yatra in November 2014, Nischay Yatra in November 2016, Samiksha Yatra in December 2017, Samaj Sudhar Yatra in December 2021, Samadhan Yatra in January 2023, and Pragati Yatra, before 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

With preparation in full swing, all eyes are now on the government’s formal announcement regarding the name, schedule, and scope of Nitish Kumar’s upcoming tour, which is expected to set the tone for governance in the post-election phase.
