CM Nitish Kumar lays foundation for Rs 103 crore projects, inaugurates works worth Rs 33 crore in Darbhanga.

Patna, January 28, 2026: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived in Darbhanga on Wednesday as part of his Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey), where he laid the foundation stone for 50 development projects worth Rs 103 crore and inaugurated 40 completed projects worth Rs 33 crore.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected model stalls set up by various departments showcasing development works and welfare schemes.

He also held a review meeting of district-level schemes and later addressed a large public gathering.

Nitish Kumar reviewed the bus terminal, the airport terminal and the expressway:

As part of the tour, CM Nitish Kumar reviewed the construction of the inter-state bus terminal at Delhi Mod, a project announced during the Pragati Yatra (Progress Journey).

The terminal is being built at a cost of Rs 88.78 crore, with construction having started on December 15, 2025, and scheduled for completion by December 14, 2027.

Procurement of machinery and construction materials is currently underway.

The Chief Minister also visited the model exhibition stalls at the bus stand complex, where models of 11 major schemes announced under the Pragati Yatra were displayed.

In addition, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the under-construction Darbhanga airport terminal, being developed at a cost of Rs 112 crore.

About 50% of the work has been completed, and the terminal building structure is expected to be finished within the next six months.

The Chief Minister further reviewed the ongoing construction of Bihar’s first expressway, the Amas-Darbhanga Expressway, at its camp office.

The expressway will connect Amas in Aurangabad to Darbhanga on NH 27.

Land acquisition for a logistics park:

He also inspected the site earmarked for a logistics park, for which 50 acres of land were allocated during the Cabinet meeting held on January 13.

The district administration will now initiate the land acquisition process.

During the visit, CM Nitish Kumar interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes and distributed cheques to eligible recipients.

Several departmental stalls were set up, which he personally visited.

The second phase of the Samriddhi Yatra began on January 27 from Madhubani, with Darbhanga marking the second day of the phase.

The first phase of the Yatra commenced on January 16 from West Champaran, during which development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees were announced and initiated across multiple districts.
