CM Nitish Kumar inspects the Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road and Punpun suspension bridge projects.

Patna, June 2, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a detailed inspection of major infrastructure development works in Patna today, including the Mithapur-Mahuli four-lane elevated road, the Punpun Suspension Bridge, and connectivity improvements near Bihta-Sarmera Path.

Nitish Kumar’s dream project: Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road ease congestion:

During his visit to the Mithapur flyover roundabout, CM Nitish Kumar reviewed the progress of the Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road, which is being constructed above the Sipra Bridge and will include service rods on both sides near the Mithapur railway crossing.

“The remaining construction must be completed swiftly. This project will significantly ease traffic congestion on the bypass and benefit commuters both within and outside Patna,” the Chief Minister emphasized.

Officials informed him that once completed the elevated corridor will provide seamless connectivity and reduce travel time.

Inspection of Punpun suspension bridge and beautification works:

Later, Nitish Kumar visited Punpun Ghats to assess the suspension bridge construction and beautification efforts. He interacted with locals, who expressed gratitude for the development projects.

“This bridge will improve access to Punpun Ghat, especially for performing religious rituals like Pinddaan. We have taken care of all the required amenities for the people,” Kumar said, recalling his personal connection with the area.

The beautified Ghats area has drawn praise for enhancing accessibility and promoting cultural tourism.

Connectivity boost between Bihta-Sarmera and Patna-Gaya-Dobhi routes:

Concluding his tour, Nitish Kumar visited Mahuli, where he reviewed the service road being built to link the Bihta-Sarmera Path with the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi Road.

Officials explained that this road will provide critical connectivity and ease vehicular movement across major routes.

The Chief Minister also assessed the condition of the old Patna-Gaya road, reiterating his commitment to upgrading infrastructure for public convenience.
