CM Nitish Kumar inspected PMCH, reviewed the progress of major redevelopment works.

Patna, November 28, 2025: After the formation of the New NFA government, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has intensified his review of ongoing development projects.

On Friday, he conducted a detailed inspection of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and reviewed progress on its large-scale redevelopment works.

Nitish Kumar inspected the Emergency Unit and facilities:

CM Nitish Kumar first visited the Emergency Ward building, where he reviewed the medical services available in the emergency unit.

He interacted with officials regarding the facilities, patient care system, and current operational status.

He then proceeded to inspect multiple floors of the hospital, including general medicine OPD, dental OPD, gynaecology, and obstetrics OPD and other outpatient facilities on the third floor of the building.

He then went to the sixth floor and inspected the modular OTs, ICU, oxygen pipeline system, consultation rooms, and related services.

Nitish Kumar also visited the top floor of the building and inspected the air ambulance landing area, where he inquired about the progress of construction and safety arrangements.

During the inspection, Nitish Kumar directed officials to expedite the construction work and ensure high-quality standards.

He emphasized that the boundary wall of the air ambulance landing area must be of adequate height for safety.

Background of PMCH and redevelopment:

The foundation stone of the PMCH redevelopment project was laid by the CM Nitish Kumar on February 8, 2021. Since then, several new facilities and buildings have been inaugurated.

On February 27, 2024, he inaugurated the Combined Ultrasound and Biochemical Screening unit, Myosin Light Chain Phosphatase, Nurses’ and Girls’ hostels, the foundation stone of Power Grid, start of operation of the Bihar state blood bank on the second floor of the building.

On May 3, 2024, Nitish Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed Tower 1 and 2, which includes basement parking for 120 cars and bikes.

The newly constructed towers 1 and 2 have advanced medical infrastructure, including CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, ENT, dermatology, and venereology.

It also has PSM, general medicine, geriatrics, paediatrics, dental, gynaecology, obstetrics, skin and other facilities.

Regular review of state development projects:    

Since taking charge of the new government, CM Nitish Kumar has been actively inspecting major ongoing development works across Bihar.

Recently, he reviewed the Mandiri drain four-lane road, the Serpentine drain, the Rajiv Nagar drain, the Danapur-Bihta elevated road, the Marine Drive project, and the newly constructed MLA and MLC flats.

He issued necessary directions to ensure the timely completion of all projects.
