CM Nitish Kumar disburses Rs. 1227 crore social security pension to 1.11 crore beneficiaries in Bihar.

Patna, July 11, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday disbursed Rs. 1227.27 crore as social security pensions through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT to 1.11 crore beneficiaries across the state from his official residence at 1 Anne Marg, Patna.
During the event, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were also present.
The state government has increased the social security pension amount from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1100 to benefit widows, disabled persons, and senior citizens under various welfare schemes.

Earlier, the condition of women was weak, but now they wear better clothes and live with dignity. Our government is committed to improving the standard of living of every section of society. It is our priority to give respect and security to all,” CM Nitish Kumar said while emphasizing the government’s focus on women’s upliftment.

Highlighting key achievements of his government, Nitish Kumar mentioned 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions, which has led to their improved social status.

Sharp attack on RJD and opposition:
CM Nitish Kumar sharply criticized RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and former CM Rabri Devi.
“Whatever development has happened in the last 20 years, they have no special contribution to it. Before 2005, they did nothing. We went there twice by mistake, but have they done anything special? All the welfare work has been done by us,” Kumar said.

He further added that Bihar is set to enter a new era of politics, and moving forward, everyone will walk together on the path of development, avoiding political distractions.
Reiterating his commitment to women’s empowerment, Nitish Kumar said his government has launched several schemes and decisions to uplift women, transforming their social status across the state.
