Chirag Paswan hits out at Tejashwi, calls the 90s ‘Jungle Raj,’ backs voter list revision.

Patna, June 28, 2025: LJP (RV) National President and Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan launched a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, reminding him that Bihar’s backwardness is rooted in the RJD’s 15-year rule in the 1990s, which pushed lakhs of Biharis to migrate, many of whom could never return due to jungle raj.
“Tejashwi is asking for 20 months but has forgotten that people gave his family 15 years during which Bihar was ruined. First-time voters, born after 2005, should know why the 90s are called jungle raj, when Bihar faced frequent crimes in broad daylight, giving Biharis a bad name globally,” Chirag said.
Chirag Paswan defended the Election Commission:
Chirag defended the Election Commission’s voter list revision under the Representation of the People Act, of 1950.
“This process is needed to remove fake and deceased voters’ names so that genuine voters can cast their votes. Those who fear this process are looking for excuses to escape accountability when the results come,” Paswan said.

He added that voters should understand the forms being used for the revision process, which vary based on when a voter was added, but alleged that RJD leaders lack the will to engage in these details.
Chirag Paswan responded to Tejashwi’s Pens vs Guns’ remark:
Responding to Tejashwi’s claim that RJD is distributing pens while the government is distributing guns, Chirag retorted:
“If RJD had focused on education in the 90s, we wouldn’t have to take such initiatives now.”

Addressing allegations around commissions, Chirag attacked the RJD’s dynasty politics.
“When their father went to jail, their mother was made CM. Under what law did that happen? Positions should come from ability, not family legacy. If someone holding a post isn’t capable, the government has the constitutional power to act,” he said.
Bahujan Bhim Samvad at Rajgir on Sunday:
Chirag Paswan announced that LJP(RV) will hold a ‘Bahujan Bhim Samvad’ at Rajgir, Nalanda, gathering people from multiple districts to counter misinformation about the reservation and the Constitution.
“During the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition falsely claimed that reservations would end and the Constitution would be broken, creating fear among Scheduled Castes and Tribes. As long as I am alive and in the central government, I will act as a watchman for the SC, ST, backward, deprived, and minority communities,” Chirag declared.
