CBI arrested the DGM of NBCC for taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.

New Delhi, August 1, 2024: CBI arrested a DGM rank officer of National Building Construction Company for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh, according to an official statement released by the agency on Thursday.

The alleged DGM was demanding Rs 7.40 lakh to allow the construction of a project in Leh.

The victim lodged a complaint before the CBI. Upon verification, the claim of the victim was found true. The alleged DGM demanded a higher undue advantage of Rs 11.40 lakh from the victim. Hence, CBI registered a case against him.

The investigating agency team, after registering the case, laid the trap and caught the alleged DGM red-handed while accepting an undue advantage of Rs 5 lakh as against the demand amount of Rs 11.40 lakh.

The accused DGM was arrested and would be produced before the court of competent jurisdiction at Delhi on Thursday. A search was carried out at the residence of the accused in Delhi. The investigation is underway.
