BPSC denied the adoption of normalization in the 70th combined PT examination.

Patna December 6, 2024: The BPSC has officially clarified that the rumours about adopting the normalization process for the 70th Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination scheduled on December 13, 2024, are baseless and misleading.
The Commission’s statement was issued in response to rumours circulating on social media, purportedly spread by some coaching operators and student leaders, suggesting normalization would be applied to the examination.
No Proposal from BPSC’s Statement:
The BPSC confirmed there is no proposal or plan to adopt normalization for the upcoming examination. The Commission expressed surprise at the origin of these rumours, emphasizing that the idea of normalization is baseless.
The exam will take place in a single shift from 12:00 noon to 02:00 pm on the scheduled date of December 13, 2024. As the exam will be conducted in a single session, normalization is irrelevant.
The statement further said that the advertisement for the 70th examination, issued on September 23, 2024, made no mention of normalization. The application process initially spanned September 28 to October 18, 2024, and was later extended to November 4, 2024, to accommodate candidate needs.
BPSC reiterated its commitment to conducting examinations without malpractice. Necessary corrective measures, including the preparation of multi-set question papers, have been implemented to ensure fairness. The examination will ultimately be conducted using a single set of question papers to maintain uniformity.
Candidates are urged to disregard misleading information and focus on their preparation. The examination will be conducted as planned without changes in progress.
The BPSC has taken a clear stance to dispel misinformation regarding the normalization process. Candidates are advised to rely only on official communications from the Commission and avoid being influenced by unverified news.
Despite clarification of BPSC, Students are sitting on Dharna:
Despite the clarification, the situation remains tense in Gardani Bagh, the proposed Dharna site in Patna. Many candidates had already begun protesting based on the assumption that normalization would disadvantage them.
Prominent educationists like Khan Sir and Guru Rahman joined the protests, criticizing the perceived lack of communication from BPSC and advocating for candidates’ rights.
Rumours about Khan Sir being detained:
The situation at Gardani Bagh turned dramatic when there was a rumour spread about Khan Sir being detained.
Patna police categorically denied any such development on Friday.
According to the police, Khan Sir was removed from the proposed site for attempting to support the protestors. He reached the adjoining Gardani Bagh police station on his own.
Patna SSP Rajeev Mishra emphasized that Khan Sir had not been arrested or detained and was repeatedly asked to leave the police station.
Khan Sir was repeatedly being asked to leave the police station but he was not ready to do the same. He had reached the police station on his own for those students who were detained by the police,” Mishra said.
