BPSC 70th PT exam protest spreads state-wide with many political parties supporting students.

Patna January 3, 2025: The demand for re-examination of the 70th BPSC Preliminary Test has escalated into a widespread movement across Bihar, with multiple student groups and political parties joining the agitation. The protests have disrupted road and rail traffic across the state.

State-wide protest participation for BPSC re-exam:

Prominent student unions, including the All India Students Union, and political parties like CPI-ML and Congress, have shown their solidarity with the protesting students. Demonstrators have accused the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) of irregularities in the examination process and demanded transparency.

At the JP Roundabout in Gandhi Maidan Patna, students broke police barricades and reached Dak Bungalow Chowk, attempting to march towards the Chief Minister’s residence.

Pappu Yadav, after blocking railway operations at Sachiwalay Halt, led a march to the Income tax Roundabout, where his supporters blocked Bailey Road and Veerchand Patel Path.

Yadav’s close aides announced plans to disrupt the January 4th examination near its centres, vowing to achieve re-examination at any cost.

Protestors blocked the Muzaffarpur- Barauni highway near Khabra Shiv Temple, creating massive traffic jams on both sides of the road.

Demonstrators set fire on the Ara-Sasaram Highway near Dhobi Ghat Turn, resulting in long vehicle queues.

Supporters of Pappu Yadav of Chhatra Yuva Shakti blocked NH, SH, and rail traffic, further crippling regional connectivity.

Protestors halted traffic on the Manpur-Wazirganj Main Road, chanting slogans in support of BPSC candidates.

Pappu Yadav’s commitment to justice:

Pappu Yadav reiterated his commitment to the students’ cause, stating:

“ We will ensure the re-examination of the BPSC 70th Preliminary Test. Protests will continue near examination centres, and tomorrow’s exam will not proceed without addressing irregularities.”

The protestors have paralyzed transportation across Bihar, with reports of long traffic jams and halted rail services. The widespread participation highlights the depth of public dissatisfaction with the examination process.

With the January 4th exam approaching, tensions remain high. Protestors and political leaders have vowed to intensify their efforts calling for immediate action from the Bihar government and the cancellation of the disputed examination.

Legislators condemn government inaction on BPSC protest:

The ongoing agitation for the cancellation of the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination has garnered support from prominent legislators, who have voiced strong criticism of the Bihar government’s handling of the issue.

Sakeel Ahmed Khan, the Congress MLA stated, “The agitation has been going on for 17 days, but if the government cared, it could have resolved the issue in 17 seconds.”

He emphasized the evidence of irregularities in the exam process, stating that the government’s focus should be on cancelling the examination rather than using force against protestors.

Khan expressed frustration over the administration’s indifference, adding, “We want to make this deaf and dumb government aware of the youth’s plight.”

Mahoob Alam, the CPI-ML MLA said the paper leak stated, “History has shown that every attempt to suppress Bihar’s people with sticks and bullets has only fuelled the movements further.”

He supported marching to the Chief Minister’s residence to demand direct intervention.

The MLA’s participation adds significant weight to the students’ demands, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction across political and social spheres.

The Bihar administration faces growing criticism for its delayed response and alleged reliance on Lathi charges to quell dissent, further intensifying public outcry.
