
Patna January 9, 2025: Allegations of widespread irregularities in the 70th preliminary examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) have led a group of candidates, headed by Pappu Kumar, to file a petition in the Patna High Court.
The petitioners are demanding the cancellation of the exam held on December 13, citing claims of large-scale rigging and urging for a re-conduct of the examination.

The matter had previously reached the Supreme Court on January 7, where a petition was filed demanding the cancellation of the exam due to alleged irregularities. Action against officials, including the SP and DM, responsible for the reported lathi charge on protesting students of BPSC, a CBI investigation into the alleged rigging, supervised by a retired Supreme Court Judge.
The petition, presented by a law firm, was heard by a bench comprising CJI Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and Justice KV Vishwanathan. However, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case, directing the petitioners to approach the Patna High Court.
