
Patna: With just four days left for filing the nomination for the first phase of Lok Sabha election 2024, BJP announced the names of candidates for 17 seats of Bihar on Sunday.
The party has cut the tickets of two sitting MPs in this election. Former union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey was not given the ticket from Buxar. Similarly, the party has not given the ticket Ajay Nishad to contest Muzaffarpur. In places of these two, the saffron party has given the tickets to Mithilesh Tiwari to contest Buxar and Raj Bhushan Nishad to contest Muzaffarpur.
BJP has given the ticket to Nityanad Rai, the MoS home in the Narendra Modi government was given the ticket to contest from Ujiarpur Lok Sabha seat again. Former law minister Ravishakar Prasad was given the ticket to contest the Lok Sabha election again from Patna Sahib. It has also given the ticket to RK Singh, the union minister in the Narendra Modi cabinet to contest from Arrah and another union minister Giriraj Singh to contest from Begusarai.
The party has given the ticket to Vivek Thakur, the Rajya Sabha MP and son for Dr CP Thakur to contest the Lok Sabha election from Nawada. Nawada seat was earlier contested by LJP candidate in 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Apart from them, the party has given the ticket to former state president Sanjay Jaiswal to contest from Paschim Champaran, Radha Mohan Jha to contest from Purvi Champaran, Ram Kripal Yadav to contest from Patliputra, Shivesh Ram to contest from Sasaram (Reserved), Rajiv Pratap Rudy to contest from Saran, Gopal Ji Thakur to contest Darbhanga, Ashok Kumar Yadav was given the ticket to contest Araria, Pradeep Kumar Singh was given the ticket to Madhubani and Janardan Singh Sigriwal to contest Maharajganj.
BJP is contesting on 17 seats in Bihar. JD-U which is contesting on 16 seats in Bihar, announced the names of the candidates earlier on Sunday.
Besides these two parties of NDA, LJPR is contesting on 5 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular (HAM-S) on 1 and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) on 1 seat in Bihar.
Jitan Ram Manjhi is the candidate of HAM-S from Gaya (Reserved) and Upendra Kushwaha will contest from Karakat Lok Sabha seatas a RLM candidate in the 2024 election.
