Patna, January 26, 2026: Bihar celebrated the 77th Republic Day with flag hoisting ceremonies across the state, marking the occasion with patriotism and respect for the Constitution of India.
CM Nitish Kumar and other leaders of Bihar hoisted national flags on Republic Day:
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hoisted the national flag at his official residence on Sunday.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister saluted the tricolour and extended his Republic Day greetings to the people of the state.
Administrative officials, security personnel, and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Following the flag hoisting, the national anthem was played, creating a patriotic atmosphere.
CM Nitish Kumar also conveyed his greetings on social media, posting on X, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes on the occasion.”
Former Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav hoisted the national flag at Rabri Devi’s residence in Patna.
Several senior RJD leaders, party workers, and supporters were present during the ceremony.
Rabri Devi was also in attendance.
At the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Speaker Prem Kumar hoisted the national flag and saluted the tricolour. Extended Republic Day greetings, he highlighted the importance of democracy, constitutional values, and national unity.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also hoisted the national flag at his official residence.
In a message posted on X, he said, “Heartfelt greetings to all the people of Bihar on the 77th Republic Day. Let us resolve to build an India where every citizen is aware of their civic duties.
In Muzaffarpur, the district in-charge minister Vijay Kumar Sinha hoisted the tricolour at Sikandarpur Stadium.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said that Republic Day reminds citizens that the Constitution should not remain confined to paper but must be reflected in everyday life and society.

Meanwhile, the celebration for the Republic Day is underway across the country smoothly.

The main national event will be held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, where the tricolour-symbolizing democracy and the Constitution, will be saluted and the nation’s heroes remembered.
The occasion marks 77 years since India first celebrated Republic Day in 1959, clarifying the count of the observance.
