Bihar Assembly polls 2025: Kranti Prakash and Neetu Chandra appointed as Bihar state SVEEP icons.

Patna, July 16, 2025: In a key move to enhance voter awareness ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, the Election Commission has appointed actor Kranti Prakash and actress Neetu Chandra as State SVEEP icons on Wednesday.

This step aims to strengthen the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign in Bihar.

The Bihar Election Department announced that Kranti Prakash and Neetu Chandra will actively participate in various voter education and awareness initiatives across the state.

“They will use their popularity to connect citizens, especially the youth, with the election process, encouraging higher participation in the upcoming elections,” said a senior official of ECI through a written statement.

“The proposal regarding their nomination has received formal approval from the Election Commission of India,” the statement said.

Voter list revision intensifies in Bihar Assembly Polls:

With Bihar assembly polls approaching, the Election Commission has intensified the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the draft voter list to be published on August 1, 2025.

The third phase of door-to-door visits by around one lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will begin soon to collect Enumeration Forms (EFs) from the remaining voters, especially from households where voters were temporarily absent during earlier visits.

As per the current status of EF collection, a total voters in Bihar have been covered 7, 89,69,844 and 6,81,67,861 (86.32%) EFs have been collected, including dead, shifted, and duplicate entries 90.84% of the total voter base has been covered.

Now, only 9.16% of voters have yet to submit their EFs before the July 25 deadline.

Special urban camps and online facilities:

To ensure no eligible urban voter is left out, special camps have been set up in 5,683 wards across 261 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

Newspapers are being used for public awareness, urging citizens to fill out and submit their forms on time.

BLOs are also guiding voters to fill forms online via the ECI Net app or https://voters.eci.gov.in, as permitted under SIR guidelines.

This exercise is supported by 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of political parties, each authorized to verify and submit up to 50 EFs per day, ensuring clean and inclusive voter lists for the upcoming elections.
