Patna, June 13, 2025: Renowned Bhojpuri actor and singer Ritesh Pandey has officially announced his intention to contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections from the Bhabhua constituency in the Kaimur district.
Speaking to media persons on Friday, Pandey emphasized education reform as his top priority while expressing admiration for the developmental efforts of the NDA government. “The environment of education should be such that children are eager to come to school. Only through education can our country truly develop,” Pandey said.
Ritesh Pandey is open to party affiliation:
While Pandey has not yet declared the party on whose ticket he will contest, he confirmed that discussions are ongoing and cited the delay in official announcements as the reason for not naming a political outfit.
“The party does not clear the ticket so quickly, which is why I cannot name it now. But my purpose is clear to improve education and focus on development, particularly around Udyog Vihar,” he said.
The actor-turned-politician pledged that if elected, he would ensure complete digitization of education in the region.
“If I win, I will transform the education system to a level where children willingly attend school and study with interest,” he added.
Praise for NDA and national security initiatives:
Ritesh Pandey lauded the Union Budget allocation for Bihar, noting that the state’s development is moving forward steadily.
“Earlier, roads were in bad shape. Now, significant improvement is visible,” he remarked.
He also praised the Indian defence forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi citing the success of Operation Sindoor.
“We will always appreciate and support those who do good work. Under PM Modi’s leadership, our armed forces are performing commendably,” he said.
