Patna, September 29, 2025: Bihar received a major rail connectivity boost on Monday as Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated seven new trains, including three Amrit Bharat Express services, aimed at providing affordable and comfortable travel for passengers across the country.
Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the trains virtually from New Delhi, while Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary symbolically launched them at Patna Junction in the presence of senior railway officials and local leaders.
The seven new trains include three Amrit Bharat Express trains, which will run between Darbhanga and Madar (Ajmer), Muzaffarpur and Charlapalli (Hyderabad), and Chhapra and Anand Vihar (Delhi).
The four passenger trains will run between Jhajha and Danapur, Patna and Buxar, Nawada and Patna, and Patna and Islampur.
Vaishnaw said the Amrit Bharat Express trains will particularly benefit lower-and middle-income groups, providing low-fare, hassle-free travel for Bihari migrants working in other states.
Ashwini Vaishnaw gave credit to the Bihar & Centre partnership:
The Railway Minister praised the partnership between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the rapid transformation of Bihar’s railway infrastructure.
“On the guidance of PM Modi and partnership of CM Nitish Kumar, we are launching 7 new trains that will connect Bihar with various cities. These Amrit Bharat trains will provide cheaper and more convenient travel options,” Vaishnaw said.

He recalled Nitish Kumar’s earlier tenure as Railway Minister, crediting him for significant improvements in the sector, while noting that between 2004 and 2014, Indian Railways experienced a slowdown.
“Since PM Modi took charge in 2014, Indian Railways is once again touching new heights with new tracks, doubling of lines, and modern trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat,” Vaishnaw added.
Samrat Choudhary on development push:
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary expressed gratitude to the Centre and State leadership for the infrastructure push.
“I thank PM Narendra Modi, CM Nitish Kumar, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for transforming Bihar’s rail and road infrastructure. A ring road in Bhagalpur is underway, and we will connect a four-lane road from Sultanganj (Bhagalpur) to Deoghar (Jharkhand). A new railway line will also connect these two holy places.”

Choudhary highlighted that during the UPA government, Bihar received only Rs 1,000 crore annually for rail development, whereas under the Modi government, the state has received over Rs 1 lakh crore in the last 11 years.
The launch of these trains is expected to boost regional connectivity, promote economic growth, and make inter-state travel more accessible for Bihar’s growing migrant population.
