Patna, April 8, 2024:  Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Monday broke his silence after nearly 15 days over the party’s decision to drop him from the Buxar Lok Sabha seat, saying he still doesn’t know the reason behind the move.

“Today, I am breaking my silence after 15 days. I don’t understand why the party cancelled my ticket. What was my fault? Maybe they cancelled my ticket because I am a Brahmin,” Choubey told reporters in Patna.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey said he will remain with the party:

However, he clarified that he holds no resentment towards the party.

“I have been in active politics for many years—from RSS to BJP. BJP is my mother, and I will continue to work for it. The party has given me a lot. Some people said I may leave politics, but they are wrong,” he said.

Reaffirming his loyalty to the BJP, Choubey added, “The party has given the slogan ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar,’ and it will surely be achieved in this election.”

BJP has given a ticket to Mithilesh Tiwari from Buxar:

The BJP is contesting 17 seats in Bihar and has replaced two sitting MPs—Ashwini Kumar Choubey from Buxar and Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur. Nishad later quit the BJP and joined the Congress, which fielded him from the same seat.

The BJP has fielded Mithilesh Tiwari from Buxar and Raj Bhushan Nishad from Muzaffarpur.
