Patna, September 27, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday carried out a massive development push by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 8900 crore across Katihar and Madhubani districts.
At the first event, held on the campus of the Gandhi Senior Secondary High School in Narhiya Panchayat of Sameli block, Katihar, the Chief Minister remotely unveiled 242 schemes worth Rs 583 crore.
On these, 224 schemes were inaugurated. He has also laid the foundation stone for 18 schemes worth Rs 332.53 crore.
Nitish Kumar interacted with beneficiaries:
Addressing a large gathering of Jeevika Didis, Anganwadi workers, sanitation supervisors, rural housing assistants, and pensioners, Kumar highlighted a series of honorarium hikes and welfare measures that have brought direct relief to beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries expressed happiness, praising the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana for boosting women’s self-reliance and livelihood. Many Jeevika Didis thanked the Chief Minister for uplifting women and making them self-reliant.
Following the Katihar program, Kumar travelled to Madhubani district, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 25 development schemes worth Rs 8,328.82 crore at the power grid ground in Sirsiya-Parsahi block.
Nitish Kumar inaugurated 25 projects in Madhubani:
The Madhubani projects include nine inaugurated schemes worth Rs 81.74 crore and 16 new projects worth Rs 8,247.08 crore.
Several of these schemes were announced earlier during the Pragati Yatra.

At Madhubani, Nitish Kumar once again interacted with pension beneficiaries, Jeevika Didis and Anganwadi Sevika and Sahaika, reaffirming his government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, rural development, and social welfare.
Nitish Kumar said the government remains focused on inclusive growth and ensuring dignity for every section of society, stressing that these projects will accelerate infrastructure development and improve livelihoods in both districts.
