Patna, August 15, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hoisted the national flag at Gandhi Maidan, Patna on Friday to mark the 79th Independence Day and took the salute of the ceremonial parade.
Addressing the people of Bihar, Nitish Kumar highlighted the government’s achievements since 2005 while also taking aim at the previous Lalu-Rabri administration.
In a series of announcements, the Chief Minister declared that the fee for all preliminary competitive examinations for state government jobs will be reduced to just Rs 100, with no fee for candidates appearing in the mains.
He reiterated his government’s target of providing jobs and employment to one crore youth in the next five years through reforms in education, fee concessions, promotion of self-employment, and expansion of technical and vocational training facilities.
Nitish Kumar announced to establishment of 7 medical colleges:
On the healthcare front, Nitish Kumar announced the establishment of new medical colleges and hospitals in seven districts, aimed at increasing opportunities for medical education and creating fresh employment avenues in the sector.

For industrial growth, the Chief Minister unveiled a special assistance package, doubling the incentives given under capital and interest subsidies for new industries.
He said land would be made available in all districts for industrial units, with this facility prioritized for projects initiated within the next four months.
Nitish Kumar announces festive travel facility:
To ease festive travel for migrants, the state will run additional buses from Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh and other places during Diwali, Chhath and Holi and has requested the Centre to operate special trains.
Nitish Kumar praised the central government and thanked PM Narendra Modi for supporting Bihar’s development, saying Centre—state coordination is helping accelerate progress towards making Bihar a developed state.
