Maheshwar Hazari advises Chirag Paswan to follow the NDA coalition protocol, questions CM’s aspirations.

Patna, July 11, 2025: Bihar government minister Maheshwar Hazari has advised LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan and his MPs to follow coalition dharma, emphasizing that Chirag, despite leading his own party, remains a constituent of the NDA and should respect alliance protocols.

“He has his own party. It is a private party. He is independent. If he wants to fight alone, he should make an announcement. Just saying anything from the stage is not right. One says something below, and one says something on stage. Such things should not happen,” Hazari said.

Maheshwar Hazari’s remarks came during a media interaction at Khagaria Circuit House, amid growing assertions from Chirag’s camp projecting him as CM material and his hints at contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections on all seats.

“You (Chirag Paswan) are a minister at the Centre as a constituent of the NDA. I request that he and his MPs respect the coalition dharma,” Hazari added.

Maheshwar Hazari said Nitish Kumar will remain as CM:

Maheshwar Hazari dismissed the CM aspirations of Chirag Paswan, stating: “As long as Nitish Kumar is alive, he will be the CM. Wherever he is, the government is there.”

He asserted that despite JDU being the third-largest party in the last assembly elections, Nitish Kumar was made CM, underlining Nitish’s leadership within the NDA in Bihar.

Maheshwar Hazari slams Rajesh Verma’s law and order remarks:

Maheshwar Hazari also criticized Khagaria MP Rajesh Verma (from Chirag Paswan’s party) for his comments, claiming that law and order in Bihar has collapsed.

The situation in Bihar is not worrisome. Everyone knows the reality,” Hazari said, advising the MP to exercise restraint while speaking on law and order.

On July 6 in Chhapra, Chirag Paswan, while addressing the Navsankalp Mahasabha, had announced his intention to contest the Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that the LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest all 243 seats in the state.

He had also attacked the opposition and raised concerns about Bihar’s law and order, setting the stage for potential friction within the NDA ahead of the assembly polls.
