Nitish Kumar inspects the under-construction Rajgir cricket stadium, reviews connectivity projects.

Patna, July 10, 2025: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday inspected the under-construction cricket stadium at Rajgir Sports Complex and reviewed progress on ongoing development projects aimed at improving connectivity to the tourist town.

During the inspection, officials briefed the Chief Minister that the Rajgir Cricket Stadium will accommodate 40,000 spectators and will feature modern facilities for players, spectators, and media, ensuring all essential requirements for hosting national-level matches are met.

Nitish Kumar took the review meeting on various projects:

Following the site visit, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting at the Rajgir International Convention Center, where he was apprised of the status of development projects in Rajgir, including alternative connectivity routes to ease travel to the tourist hub.

Nitish Kumar instructed officials to expedite all ongoing connectivity projects to ensure timely completion.

“Speed up the work on the alternative connectivity routes and ongoing development projects in Rajgir so that people can benefit at the earliest,” he directed.

Buddha circuit four-lane road alignment inspected:

Earlier, on his way from Patna to Rajgir, Nitish Kumar inspected the proposed alignment of the Salepur to Rajgir Biddha Circuit four-lane road at the Salepur turn and Belua in Nalanda district.

Officials informed him that the plan includes an elevated road over the railway line along the alignment to ensure smooth connectivity.

Nitish Kumar instructed that the project be started soon to reduce travel time for people commuting between Patna and Rajgir.

Additionally, he inspected the diversion site under construction at Hasanpur and took stock of progress, instructing officials to complete the construction at the earliest.

The inspection and review meeting saw the presence of MP Kaushlendra Kumar, MLA Kaushal Kishore, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, Secretary to CM Anupam Kumar, Secretary to CM Kumar Ravi and others.

The Rajgir Sports Complex and improved connectivity infrastructure are part of the state government’s efforts to develop Rajgir as a major sports and tourism hub, aiming to attract national and international events while boosting local economic activities.
