Nitish Kumar inaugurates development projects worth Rs. 133 Crore in Sheikhpura.

Patna February 6, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated or laid the foundation stones for 172 developmental projects worth Rs. 133.24 crore in Sheikhpura district during Pragati Yatra on Thursday.

Among these, he inaugurated 120 projects worth Rs. 96.33 crore and laid the foundation of 52 projects worth Rs. 36.71 crore.

The main event was held at Gangaur village under Ghatkusumbha block in the district. The Chief Minister inaugurated a sports ground in Gangaur village worth Rs. 9.92 lakh and the renovated building of the Rajiv Gandhi Service Center, valued at Rs.14.99 lakh.

Additionally, he inaugurated a library for Jivika Didis and an Anganwadi centre and inspected their stalls at the venue.

Nitish Kumar said he brought the Jivika concept in Bihar:

CM Nitish Kumar highlighted initiatives like Jivika crediting it with empowering women through self-help groups.

“The Jivika model has widespread success in Bihar, and it has been adopted by the central government under the name Aajivika. Other states have also adopted this model to promote financial self-reliance. I was the one who gave the name Jivika, and now they recognize them as Jivika Didis,’ Kumar said while interacting with the Jivika Didis.

He emphasized that the library would help youth, children, and farmers learn about the technical aspects of various micro and small-scale industries. He also directed officials to construct a Panchayat building by June 2025.

Nitish Kumar encouraged female students:

The Chief Minister inspected Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ School and its laboratory, encouraging the students to pursue their studies. He also visited a health and wellness centre, instructing doctors and medical staff to provide telemedicine services to patients.

Furthermore, Kumar inspected several stalls set up by various departments, including industry, health, rural work, agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries, labor, social welfare, transport, and education.

Under the Mukhya Mantri Udhyami Yojana, cheques worth Rs. 18.56 crore were distributed to 211 beneficiaries, while under the Laghu Udhyami Yojana, Rs. 1.64 crore was distributed to 211 beneficiaries. Additionally. Rs. 49.46 crore was allocated to 1,200 self-help groups as part of the ongoing developmental initiatives.
