Nitish Kumar will meet 5 women on day one of his Mahila Samvad Yatra to lure voters.
Patna December 4, 2024: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is gearing up for the 2025 assembly elections with his Mahila Samvad Yatra, starting on December 15, 2024, from Bagaha in West Champaran.
This marks the 15th Yatra in his political career and reflects his intent to connect with women voters, a significant portion of the electorate.
Nitish Kumar will focus on women’s issues:
The yatra aims to engage with women on developmental issues and address their concerns directly. Five tribal women, including Hema Devi and Mita Devi, have been selected to converse with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. They will discuss challenges affecting the development of tribal areas.
Hema Devi highlighted the positive impact of Nitish Kumar’s 7 Nischay Schemes, which improved village infrastructure and reduced atrocities against women due to liquor prohibition.
“We need a canal for irrigation and government-run bus services from Harnatand to Patna,” Hema said.
Mita Devi praised the Chief Minister’s efforts in empowering women through initiatives in education, health, and employment but urged him to complete pending development projects in the region.
Kumar’s previous visits to West Champaran, such as to Santpur Sohariya Panchayat, resulted in significant development within a short span, creating expectations for similar outcomes this time.
Election Strategy of Nitish Kumar:
Political analysts interpret the yatra as a strategic move to strengthen Kumar’s appeal among women, often referred to as ‘half the population,’ a critical voter base. It also highlights his focus on tribal areas and rural constituencies, crucial for the upcoming 2025 elections.
Administrative Preparations for the Nitish Kumar Yatra:
Senior officials are working to finalize venues in Mushari Semaria Panchayats, Ghothawa Tola, and Tauranga, ensuring the smooth execution of the program.
The Mahila Samvad Yatra is not only a platform for Kumar to showcase his governance achievements but also a strategic campaign initiative to connect with women voters. Whether it bolsters his electoral prospects will depend on how effectively he addresses the local concerns raised during these interactions.
