The flood situation in Bihar, particularly in Patna and its surrounding areas, is currently alarming due to rising water levels in the Ganga River.

Bihar Chief Minister on Saturday, conducted an inspection of the flood-affected areas, focusing on Patna’s JP Ganga Path, also known as Marine Drive, which has become a crucial shelter for displaced residents. Villages in Maner, Danapur, Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur and other parts of Patna districts are heavily submerged, forcing people to seek higher grounds along embankments and the Marine Drive.

The flood has also dealt a significant blow to farmers in Hajipur, a region known for banana farms that have been destroyed, inflicting heavy losses on the farmers.

In response, CM Nitish Kumar has announced compensation for these farmers and directed officials to provide essential aid. This includes temporary shelters, food through community kitchens, medical supplies, and fodder for livestock.
