Vijay Kumar Sinha claimed Sikandar Yadvendu is a close relative of Tejashwi’s PS.

Patna, June 19, 2024: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Wednesday made a sensational allegation regarding the NEET question paper leak case, claiming that the alleged kingpin of the leak, junior engineer Sikandar Yadavendu, is a close relative of Tejashwi Yadav’s personal secretary, Pritam Kumar.

Vijay Kumar Sinha said Sikander Yadavendu is a close relative of Tejashwi Yadav’s personal secretary:

“Sikandar Yadavendu is a close relative of Tejashwi Yadav’s PS Pritam Kumar. The NHAI guest house was booked for Sikandar’s brother-in-law’s wife, Reena Yadav, and her son, Anurag Yadav, to stay on May 4. A phone number and the words ‘Mantri ji’ (Minister) were mentioned in the diary of the NHAI guest house. Investigators are working to identify who that ‘Mantri Ji’ refers to,” Vijay Kumar Sinha told reporters.

Vijay Kumar Sinha, who also holds the road construction portfolio, said he has ordered an internal inquiry into the NHAI guest house booking and departmental role. “I am getting a complete investigation done to find out who in the department works at the behest of Tejashwi Yadav. All such officials will be identified, and action will follow. The entire system of RJD is based on crime and corruption,” Vijay Kumar Sinha alleged.

During the probe by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, Yadavendu—a junior engineer posted with Danapur municipal committee—emerged as the alleged mastermind in the NEET paper leak conspiracy. The NEET examination was held on May 5, and the question paper is suspected to have been leaked on May 4.

Reena Devi was arrested on May 5:

According to the EOU, the gang made several aspirants, including Anurag Yadav, memorize answers using the leaked paper and answer keys at the NHAI guest house. Reena Devi was arrested from the guest house on May 5. An OMR sheet was also recovered from the premises. The guest house register reportedly mentions Anurag’s name with letter number 440 and the remark “Mantri Ji”. The EOU is probing who ordered the accommodation.

The EOU also suspects that the same network was involved in the earlier teacher recruitment exam paper leak in Bihar.

Yadavendu, originally from Samastipur, had earlier worked as a contractor in Ranchi before clearing the Bihar SSC exam in 2012. He had also served jail time in a Rs 3 crore LED scam case. His two children are pursuing MBBS in government medical colleges, while his son-in-law is a postgraduate medical student.
