Patna, May 31: While the people of Bihar are facing a tough time due to the scorching heat this summer, good news came from Bagaha sub-division in West Champaran district late on Thursday night.


The people of Bagaha were relieved by the heavy rain with thunderstorms on Thursday night. As the wind speed was very high, trees fell on the roads and high-tension electric wires. The electricity supply was disrupted in several areas and long traffic snarls appeared on the roads.


Traffic was disrupted for hours due to the falling of trees at DM Academy Chowk adjacent to NH 727. Meanwhile, people have got relief from rain. The weather has become pleasant on Friday.


The Meteorological Department had issued an alert regarding heat waves and heat. Along with this, the possibility of rain and thunderstorms was also expressed. Talking about the weather in Bihar, people are in bad condition due to heat stroke for the last three days. The maximum temperatures were above 45 degrees Celsius apart from high humidity.


However, the Meteorological Department has expressed hope that there is a possibility of rain in Bihar soon. The officials have predicted 40 degrees Celsius maximum temperature in Patna and 28 degrees Celsius minimum temperature on Friday.


On Wednesday, more than 100 students fainted in the government school in Bihar’s several districts while more than 26 persons including police personnel and employees on election duties died in the state.
