Patna, May 20, 2026: Bhojpuri cinema made a remarkable mark at the prestigious 2026 Cannes Film Festival with the unveiling of the first-look poster of the movie Biwi Ho Tho Aisi at the Indian Pavilion.

The grand event witnessed the presence of the film’s cast, producers, and several distinguished personalities from the Indian film industry.

Nishant Ujjwal described it as a historic moment for the Bhojpuri film industry due to recognition at Cannes:

Producer Nishant Ujjwal described the moment as historic and proud for Bhojpuri cinema.

He stated that the showcase of a Bhojpuri film on an international platform like Cannes reflects the growing global recognition of regional Indian cinema.

According to him, Biwi Ho Tho Aisi is not just an entertaining film but also carries a strong social message focused on women’s empowerment.

The film is directed by Sombhushan Srivastava and produced under the banner of Renuvijay Films Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. It stars Bhojpuri cinema’s “Lady Superstar” Amrapali Dubey alongside Vikrant Singh in the lead roles.

The supporting cast includes Dev Singh, Ramsujan Singh, Maya Yadav, Subpdh Seth, Saba Khan, Pallavi Kohli, Manoj Dwivedi, and Awadhesh Mishra in pivotal roles. Sanjay Pandey also makes a special appearance in the film.

The music has been composed by Om Jha and Rajneesh Mishra, while Dr. Sandeep Ujjwal and Sushant Ujjwal serve as co-producers.

During the event, Nishant Ujjwal expressed gratitude to FICCI, NFDC, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, IMPPA, and FFI for supporting Indian and regional cinema on global platforms.
