Gurugram, April 28, 2026: With just two days remaining for the self-enumeration process under Census 2027, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sonu Bhatt has appealed to the citizens to complete their online registration by April 30, 2026.
He urged households to actively participate and make use of the self-enumeration facility, which allows individuals to fill in their census details from home, making the process simpler, transparent and efficient.
The ADC described how to complete the self-enumeration of Census 2027 online:
He stated that citizens can complete the process of Census 2027 through the official portal: se.census.gov.in
To fill the process online, citizens have to visit the portal and select the state where he/she lives, enter the verification code displayed on the screen, register using the head of the household’s name and mobile number, complete OTP verification (one household per mobile number), choose your preferred language (available in 16 languages), enter district and city details, and pinpoint your home location on the map.

The questionnaire includes information related to housing details like construction material, wall, roof, condition, and usage.
The citizens need to submit household details, including number of members, head of household, gender, social category, followed by living conditions, including number of rooms, married couples, ownership status, drinking water source, electricity, lighting, toilet & drainage system, bathroom, kitchen availability, LPG/PNG, cooking fuel, TV, mobile, internet, laptop, vehicles, bicycle, etc, apart from food habits.
Save your self-enumeration ID:
After submitting the form, a self-enumeration ID will be generated. Save it via screenshot or note it down.
The ID will also be sent via SMS and email.
This ID must be shown to census officials during their visit.
The official said that the census 2027 will be conducted in two phases.

The first phase will take place from May 1 to May 30, 2026, where house listing will take place, and in the second phase, the population enumeration will take place between February 9 and February 28, 2027.
ADC Sonu Bhatt emphasized that timely participation will ensure accurate data collection and smoother execution of the Census process.
