Patna, April 28, 2026: Nishant Kumar, son of former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is set to embark on his maiden statewide tour from May 3, marking a significant step in his political journey.

The Janata Dal (United) has named the outreach program ‘Sadbhav Yatra’ (Harmony Journey), which will begin from the historic region of Champaran.

Nishant Kumar’s statewide outreach in phases:

Sharing details of the tour, Umesh Singh Kushwaha, the state president of JD(U), said the yatra will cover all districts of Bihar in a phased manner.

During the journey, Nishant Kumar will communicate the party’s message of development, good governance, and social harmony, achieved under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

He will also engage in direct interaction with party workers, from district-level leaders to Panchayat representatives, aiming to strengthen grassroots connections.

Kushwaha stated that the tour has generated significant enthusiasm among party leaders, workers, and the general public.

He is expected to interact with workers in a one-on-one format, presenting himself as a committed grassroots worker.

The tour will be accompanied by senior leaders, including Shravan Kumar, State President Umesh Kushwaha, and several MLAs and senior party members.

In phase 1, he visits Bagaha and Bettiah in East Champaran from May 3 to 4.

In the second phase, he begins the Yatra in the Vaishali district on May 7.

Despite not holding any formal party position, Nishant Kumar’s increasing involvement is being seen by the JD(U) as a move that will inject fresh energy into the organization.

Nishant Kumar’s primary focus is on entering public life:

Kushwaha noted that the name ‘Sadbhav Yatra’ was personally chosen by Nishant Kumar, reflecting his emphasis on unity and social harmony.

He added that Nishant Kumar’s primary focus since entering public life has been to strengthen the party structure and boost workers’ morale through direct engagement.
