AIMIM will contest on 16 seats of Lok Sabha in Bihar.

Patna: Asaduddin Owaisi led All India Majli-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will contest on 16 seats of Lok Sabha in Bihar.

AIMIM will contest on Darbhanga, Patliputra, Kishanganj, Madhubani, Katihar, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Sheohar, Purnea, Araria, Sitamarhi, Karakat, Maharajganj, Samastipur, Paschim Champaran and Valmiki Nagar seats in the Lok Sabha election 2024.

“Our party wanted to be a part of the INDIA bloc, but they did not allow us to get inside the alliance. We will fight alone in Bihar and will stop BJP from coming into power again,” Akhtarul Iman, the state president of AIMIM, said.

The presence of AIMIM may hurt INDIA bloc especially RJD in Bihar. Muslims are the core voters of RJD in Bihar and AIMIM may hit the MY (Muslim-Yadav) equation of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party. During the 2020 assembly election, AIMIM had won 5 seats in Bihar and cut the votes of RJD and Congress in more than 20 seats. Same situation may emerge in the Lok Sabha poll 2024.

“The Muslim community people are lagging behind in every section. Even the backwardness of Muslim people appeared in the caste based survey of Bihar. Still, none of the political parties are promoting Muslim leaders in Bihar and in the country,” Iman said.

Akhtarul Iman also added that his party will support Hina Sahab if she contests the Lok Sabha election 2024 from Siwan.
