Patna, December 8, 2025: An important review meeting took place on Monday at the ethanol plant in Buxar, where Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, along with Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inspected assessed its operational status.
Ajay Singh, the CMD of Bharat Plus Ethanol Private Limited, welcomed both leaders and shared detailed information about the ethanol production process, the plant’s installed capacity, and its future expansion plans.
Ajay Singh urged CM Nitish Kumar to increase the supply order:
During discussions, Ajay Singh informed the Chief Minister that the current ethanol supply order issued by the state government accounts for only 50% of the plant’s total capacity.
He said the reduced supply quota is affecting the plant’s overall production cycle, creating financial pressure and threatening long-term sustainability.

He also submitted a formal application to the Chief Minister, requesting that the government revise the supply order to match the plant’s full capacity.
Employees of the plant echoed these concerns. They collectively submitted an application, signed by all staff, expressing fear that the reduced supply order is disrupting production and increasing job insecurity.
They appealed to the Chief Minister to ensure that ethanol supply orders correspond with the plant’s actual capacity so that operations remain stable and their employment remains protected.
Nitish Kumar assures positive action:
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave a patient hearing to both the management and the workforce.
He assured them that the state government would carefully evaluate the issue and take necessary decisions soon.

He reiterated that promoting ethanol production is a key priority for the Bihar government, which has already introduced several policy reforms to encourage investment in the sector.
A crucial visit for the ethanol sector:
The joint visit of CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary is being seen as a significant development for Bihar’s ethanol industries.
Bharat Plus Ethanol Private Limited, one of the state’s prominent ethanol manufacturers, now hopes the government will revise supply norms to support full-scale production.
