Patna, November 7, 2025: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday addressed a large gathering in Bhagalpur and intensified his attack on the Narendra Modi government, alleging “vote chori.”
Addressing another rally in Amarpur Assembly constituency in Banka district, he said the people of Bihar would not allow anyone to “steal votes.”
“Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have been stealing votes for many years. Earlier, we did not have proof of vote theft, but now we have evidence with a date. That is why I am saying there is a stolen government in Haryana,” he alleged.
Gandhi claimed that while farmers, labourers, weavers and makhana growers do not get bank loans or loan waivers, big corporate houses receive lakhs and crores of rupees and their debts are easily written off.
“Has the BJP government ever waived the debts of farmers, labourers, weavers or makhana farmers?” he asked.
Targeting the BJP leadership further, he said:
“Amit Shah’s son does not even know how to hold a cricket bat, but he is the chief of the cricket board—why is that?”
Rahul Gandhi accused Narendra Modi of handing over assets to his industrialist friends:
He accused the Modi government of allegedly handing over ports, airports, solar infrastructure and land to big business houses.
“Your Land is given to Adani and Ambani. The airport here was shut down to destroy the weavers. Narendra Modi’s face is shown on TV 24 hours a day because they pay for it. Nothing is free,” he alleged.

Calling the Bihar Assembly election “an election for the future of Bihar,” Gandhi urged voters to elect a government that would “stand with them in their time of need.”
“This change will be recorded in Bihar’s history as a golden chapter that takes the state out of unemployment, migration, poverty and hooliganism,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi met the silk weavers:
Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi met silk weavers in Bhagalpur and discussed the challenges faced by the industry. The weavers informed him about the current state of operations in the region and reiterated their demand for government support to promote handloom.

Bhagalpur, popularly known as the “Silk City of India,” is globally recognized for Bhagalpur or Tassar silk, derived from Antheraea papia cocoons. The labour-intensive, nature-linked process is often referred to as producing “peace silk.” The craft remains a key cultural marker for Bihar, while contributing significantly to the state’s economy, with a steady footprint in both domestic and overseas markets.
