76th Republic Day celebration at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan will take place under tight security.

Patna January 25, 2025: Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will hoist the national flag on 76th Republic Day (January 26, 2025), at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
Extensive preparations are underway to ensure a grand and smooth celebration, with key officials and departments actively overseeing various aspects of the event.
Final rehearsals Republic Day have been completed under the supervision of the Patna Divisional Commissioner, Patna DM and Patna SSP.
Participation and events for 76th Republic Day:
According to an official, a total of 20 contingents will participate in the parade and 15 departments will showcase their tableaus during the event.
Gandhi Maidan has been divided into four security zones. The venue and its surroundings will be monitored using 128 CCTV cameras, 18 watchtowers, a temporary police station, and a control room. Strict security tests have been conducted to ensure safety.
To enhance visibility and safety, the premises will be illuminated with 136 LED metal lights, 229 pole lights and 20 high-mast lights.
Seating and crowd management at Gandhi Maidan:
Seating arrangements are being planned by the Deputy Collector and Additional District Magistrate Law and Order as per the protocol.
Clear signage and guidance will be provided to assist attendees in locating their designated places
A multi-member sub-committee, chaired by the Deputy Development Commissioner, has been formed to oversee the preparation 24×7.
Engineers from the Building Construction Department, Public Health Engineering Department and other officials are coordinating with each other.
They have been assigned to look after barricading as per approved maps, repair and levelling of the ground, and maintenance of entry gates and bricks pitching on parade and tableau routes as required.
Senior officials, including the DM and SSP, are personally inspecting the site to review preparations.
Departmental officers are instructed to remain active and coordinate effectively to ensure flawless execution.
A strong emphasis is being placed on crowd management, law and order, and traffic regulation.
The executive engineers of the electrical works division have been directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Gandhi Maidan.
Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, the district magistrate of Patna, stated, “Republic Day celebrations are a fixed-time venue function requiring meticulous teamwork. All preparations are being conducted as per prescribed parameters, with a focus on flawless execution and coordination.”
