Patna: Mukesh Sahani led Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) will contest on three seats of Lok Sabha election 2024 in Bihar.
Mukesh Sahani joined the grand alliance in presence of leader of opposition in Bihar assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Patna on Friday. VIP will contest in Gopalganj, Jhanjharpur and Motihari. RJD has given those three seats from its own quota to VIP.
In a joint press conference in Patna on Friday, Tejashwi Yadav said: “Today is an important day in the politics of Bihar. Mukesh Sahani has joined the grand alliance in Bihar. He has struggled for the extremely backward caste community and fought for them over the years in Bihar. We welcome him in the grand alliance. This would not be the alliance only for the Lok Sabha election but our alliance will stay in the next assembly election as well.”
“As per the seat sharing formula of INDIA bloc, Congress is contesting on 9 seats, left parties are contesting on five seats and RJD is contesting on 26 seats in Bihar. Now, we have decided to give 3 seats to Mukesh Sahani led VIP in Bihar. These seats are Gopalganj, Jhanjharpur and Motihari,” Yadav said.
“I want to say one more thing that those who are claiming to win 400 seats in the country, we will defeat them in Bihar. This state will give a surprising result in this election. The symbol of the BJP is phool (Lotus) but they have made people of the country fool in the last 10 years,” he said.
“I am thankful to my brother Tejashwi Yadav for including me in the grand alliance. We are the people who always follow the path of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He is the person who always fought for the poor and backward class people in the state. BJP had broken my party. They have stabbed the knife on my chest,” Sahani said.
“Now, we are part of INDIA block in Bihar and we will not only contest on three seats in Bihar but we are contesting on all 40 seats. We are the alliance partner of RJD, Congress and left parties and we support every candidate of the INDIA bloc. The Lok Sabha election will give surprising results. We will win all 40 seats in Bihar. The BJP government had promised 2 crore jobs. They have made many other promises but failed to fulfill any one,” Sahani said.
“The governments of Delhi and West Bengal have given the reservation to the Nishad community but we are deprived of reservation in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand,” Sahani said.
